this just in. we're learning that emergency officials are responding to a reported officer-involved shooting at 33rd avenue and san leandro boulevard in oakland. this is a developing story and we'll get more information out to you as soon as we learn it. a family barbeque in antioch brought to a

skretching hault today when a 7-year-old boy is shot in the backyard. kron four's philippe djegal shows us where this happened. and how neighbors are reacting. the antioch police say the shooter was standing on this overcrossing. overlooking this backyard, and then opened fire on a group of people have a b-b- q. at around 4-15 in the afternoon, on the 200 block of william reed drive. alfred ragonton lives with his family across the street and heard the gunfire. police say the seven year old boy was the only one injured. shot once. he was airlifted to children's hospital in oakland. but police say his wound is non-life threatening. police say no arrests have

been made. the suspect is still at large. but the investigation is still on going. ragonton isn't the only one frustrated with the crime in this neighborhood. a make-shift memorial still stands on the street corner where that homicide took place. just a few homes down from janelle timmons.

in antioch, philippe djegal, kron four news. this marks the third shooting where a child was injured within the past few days. yesterday afternoon in east oakland police say a ten year old was hit by debris from multiple rounds of bullets being fired off by two suspects nearby. this is video from our helicopter partnership with abc 7 news of that scene. then back on thursday a one year old was struck by a

bullet while in his grandparents apartment in richmond. the baby boy was released from the hospital yesterday. both children are expected to make a full recovery. a teen home for spring break is shot to death in san francisco's mission district. his family is completely shaken tonight. kron 4's alecia reid has the latest on the victim that was just a few steps from his door when he was tragically gunned down. >> tragedy.especially happening in front of his gate. he had so much potential to excel. family members tell us 19 year old jacob val-di-viezo was a top scholar and athlete at raritan high before moving on to lewis and clark in oregon as an honor student on a football scholarship. in town for the week, he was walking home with a friend just after 3-am saturday morning when police say a gray sedan pulled up --- a hispanic man in his 30's hopped out, asked jacob if he was in a

gang, but before giving him a chance to speak --- shot him. witnesses say the family rushed downstairs, only to find jacob lying on these stairs. his father held him until he was rushed to the hospital where he died. one after the other, people poured in to express their condolencesas they question how this could've happened to a guy with such a bright future. t-shirts were made in jacob's honorand his best friend got his name tattoed. police are still searching for that suspect. jacob planned on heading back to school on monday, but instead his family is now left to plan his funeral. live in san francisco's mission district alecia reid kron 4 news. oakland police have arrested a man they say was responsible for the deadly shooting at the bay fair bus station. the shooting happened in january. police say jabrie bennett fired shots near the bus zone killing kenneth lee seets, who police say was an innocent bystander waiting for a bus. this is file video of the scene. bennet is facing murder charges and a narcotics violation. the san mateo county sheriff's department is investigating a flasher who has struck at least once in the last week. kron four's jeff bush shows you where it happened and explains who police are looking for. laurel street in san carlos is a charming area with antique shops and a small town flarean unlikely place for a flasher to show up.

but, that's what happened. according to the sheriff's department, a woman was getting money out of the atm near cherry street on tuesday around 6:30pm. then, all of a sudden, a young man approached her and exposed police say the woman screamed and the man escaped in a waiting car. fortunatly the woman was not injured but was left shocked at what had just happened. as you might imagine, locals are concerned about the indecent exposure. >> kaytha clawson, resident:it doesn't happen much around here. i think you expect it in bigger cities. so, i guess it can happen anywhere but, yeah, i am a bit surprised. i talked to several women in the area. none of them wanted to go on camera but they all expressed their concern that something like this could happen in this quiet town. police say the suspect is a hispanic male in his late teens or early 20's and the escape vehicle, is a silver sedan with a spoiler. i'm jeff bush in san carlos, kron four news. the giants and the a's finished up their traditional bay bridge series today. and now they turn their sights to the start of the regular season. but which team came out on top? officials want you to be prepared for all types of natural disasters. including tsunamis! what you need to know! hundreds lineup for a h-i-v and hepatitis screening after being exposed to the infections diseases during a trip to the dentist! infections diseases during a trip to the dentist! hello?

the bay area's favorite ball teams - going at it this afternoon. the san francisco giants paying a visit to the home of the oakland a's for the bay bridge series. i took my cellphone behind home plate. and caught some of the action. the teams tied one to one going into the last game of the series. a's fans got a thrill early on. when a bearded josh reddick connected with the ball. and drove in a run by coco crisp. giants fans not so happy in the end. san francisco losing to oakland 4-3. the a's will then have their season opener at home on monday against the seattle mariners. and the giants will open their season on the road to take on the la dodgers. that is also on monday. we're now 49 days away from this year's bay to breakers. kron 4 will bring you the race from start to finish. bay to breakers -- happening -- sunday, may 19th

days since the golden gate bridge got rid of the toll takers and switched over to a new way of doing things. kron 4's jeff pierce is out on the bridge seeing how drivers are adjusting to the new toll plaza. >> reporter: it's not quite a week into the electronic toll collection on the golden gate bridge and it appears that most everyone has made the transition. those in doubt tend to slow down through the unoccupied toll gates and are prodded by their fellow travelers the few that actually stop are treated with a bit more insistence from those behind them. the truly unitiated stop at the toll collection office somewhat bewildered.

everything was fine. there's something to be said about that. at the golden gate bridge jeff pierce kron four news. tonight health officials reporting that more than 400 hundred patients of an oklahoma oral surgeon have been tested for hiv and hepatitis this comes after a dental board shut down doctor scott harrington's two practices. after accustions of unsanitary practices at his tulsa-area clinics. about 7,000 of his patients are being warned to get tested. screenings will start operating ten hours a day

on monday to accommodate all the patients put at risk. a new study shows that veterans aren't getting the healthcare that they need. the federal government is struggling to keep up with the needs of more than two- million who have served over seas since 9-11. many returning veterans rely on the benefits that the government provide but are becoming frustrated with the system. >> "these people have volunteered for the service. there is an inherent commitment of society to take care of them if they have been unfortunately wounded in action, either mentally or physically, and we're basically going to be taking care of some of these people until the day they die." pentagon officials plan to take a look at the back log and go before congress by june. their goal is to have the issue resolved by 20-15. but two years is a long time to wait for some of these veterans. >> "these people have volunteered for the service. there is an inherent commitment of

in a few hours, pope francis will celebrate easter mass at the vatican pope francis already presided over his first easter vigil as the head of the roman catholic church. the holy saturday papal mass at saint peter's basilica started with the blessing of the fire and the easter proclamation. francis was also expected to baptize four adult converts from various countries during the vigil. after the service, pope francis will prepare for easter sunday which is the holiest day on the christian calendar. coming up after the break. both the warriors and sharks are in action tonight.
